DESCRIPTION

Weathervane Theatre, in Whitefield, New Hampshire – An Actors Equity, alternating repertory theatre entering its 56th season is seeking applicants for the PROPS MASTER position for the 2021 season. This year’s mainstage includes 7 Summer shows – Addams Family, Buyer and Cellar, Green Day’s American Idiot, Kinky Boots, Disaster!, Amadeus, and Hello, Dolly!; and 4 Fall shows – The Mountaintop, Pippin, Fully Committed, and She Loves Me. The theatre operates in alternating repertory with the 11 mainstage shows and 4 children’s shows presented in the summer season. This season’s employment would start as early as June 14th and continue as late as October 10th. This position works in collaboration with the Technical Director, Scenic Charge, other scenic artists, and shop staff in executing all designs and builds for each production, daily changeovers, and any other prop duties. An ideal candidate will be extremely creative, be self-motivating, be able to build and maintain all hand props and set props for all productions, and work independently and efficiently. Must be able to lift 50 pounds repetitively. Valid driver’s license is a bonus but not required. The theatre operates in alternating repertory with the 11 mainstage shows and 4 children’s shows presented in the summer season. This season’s employment would start as early as June 14th and continue as late as October 10th. This position will work with the Technical Director and Production Manager and lead a team of scenic artists to execute designs and builds for each production, daily changeovers, and any other scenic duties. An ideal candidate will have strong painting skills, strong leadership skills, excellent time management, and be self-motivating. Must be able to lift 50 pounds repetitively. Valid driver’s license is a bonus but not required. Design opportunities available if interested. The theatre operates in alternating repertory with the 11 mainstage shows and 4 children’s shows presented in the summer season. This season’s employment would start as early as June 14th and continue as late as October 10th. This position works in collaboration with the Technical Director and Production Manager, other carpenters, and scenic staff in executing all designs and builds for each production, daily changeovers, and any other scenic duties. An ideal candidate would be able to take responsibility in changeovers, be self-motivating, and be able to lead a small group through basic carpentry tasks. Must be punctual, accountable, and able to work independently and efficiently. Must be able to lift 75 pounds repetitively. Valid driver’s license required.
