Actors who sing for roles in CICADA DANCE (see breakdown).

One actor to read both of the following roles for the purposes of the reading:

* Angie: Married 30 year-old dancer (in 1985). Sexual abuse survivor, who struggles with bouts of depression and PTSD; divorced 47-year-old dance therapist (in 2002), a therapy patient whose life experiences have inspired her to become a therapist.
* Danni (Angie as an adolescent): 13-year old girl (in 1968). A self-confident extrovert who loves to dance. Her vivacity is infectious. Her parents split up when she was five years old. She lives with her mother and stepfather.

One actor to read both of the following roles for the purposes of the reading:

* Denis: Entomologist, 30-year old assistant professor at a large university (in 1985); married 47-year old father and department chair (in 2002). He suffers from a sense of detached isolation, even in his closest personal relationships.
* Denny (Denis as an adolescent): 13-year old boy (in 1968). A shy introvert, drawn to science and provable facts. He lives with his father. His mother, who was absent for much of his childhood, died when he was eleven years old. He is impatient to outgrow what he sees as the immaturity of childhood, to become a man.

One actor to read the following roles for the purposes of the reading:
* Ra’hael: 33-year-old nurse’s aide (gender non-specific), Danni’s mother, Denny’s father

Each actor will learn one or two songs for the reading, in addition to reading from the script (no memorization will be required).

Actors of all races and ethnicities are strongly encouraged to send submissions.

Please send a picture, resume, and video (or link to a video if file is larger than 25MB) which includes a contemporary monologue and a song in the style of the show, samples of which can be found at Monologue and song should be 2-4 minutes in total length.
