Kaiser’s Room is a not-for-profit service organization that provides the opportunity for imagination and connection through theatre and dance for students of all ages and abilities. We support the artist community by providing employment that not only is fiscally profitable but feeds the soul. Kaiser’s Room cultivates an environment of YES in all programs and interactions by providing safe, supportive, and fun environments for students and artists alike.

Currently, Kaiser’s Room provides multiple digital weekly classes in dance and acting for students across New York City of all ages. Additionally, we have launched 2 classes for the Deaf Plus community and have ongoing private lessons in acting, dance, and voice. We are also in the process of piloting a brand new program called The Kaiser’s Room ImagiHouse.


The Kaiser’s Room Director of Education & Imagination has their hands in all aspects of KR programming. This individual will work closely with the Founding Director and the Education & Imagination Associate to make KR programming run as efficiently and effectively as possible. 

Position is currently completely remote. Pending the end of the pandemic, this position will be required to occasionally observe classes, meet with potential educational partners, and attend 1 monthly team meeting at the KR office. The KR office will be open to the Dir. of Education & Imagination to work out of as needed.


  • Class & Teaching Artist Scheduling

    • Coordinate with KR’s Educational Partners and Teaching Artists to schedule class sessions

    • Includes keeping up with TA availability and scheduling substitutes 

  • Class Goals & Reflections Reviews

    • Work with Teaching Artists at the beginning of every session to set class goals.

    • Review and manage weekly class reflections submitted by Teaching Artists responding to both progress and challenges documented

  • TA Recruitment and Onboarding

    • Work with the Founding Director and Hiring Working Group to recruit new Teaching Artists and scheduling them for class observations

  • Educational Partner Outreach

    • Work with the KR Administrative Associate to reach out to, connect with, and schedule demo classes for potential Educational Partners

  • Teaching Artist Payroll

    • Submit Teaching Artist hours/classes to the Finance Dept. monthly

  • Collaborate on biannual TA training sessions

    • Collaborate with Founding Director and external consultants on designing and executing the biannual TA training sessions

    • Help organize and suggest professional development sessions during each semester

  • Collaborate on new programming

    • Work with Founding Director in developing new programming

  • Collaborate on curriculum development

    • Work with Founding Director, Board Members, and external consultants on continuing to evolve and expand KR curriculum

  • Create and distribute quarterly TA Newsletter on Mailchimp

  • Collaborate with Founding Director on annual department budget

  • Attend occasional board meetings

    • Present on department matters at quarterly meetings


A passion for inclusive arts education

An ability to efficiently self manage work hours

Clear and effective communication skills

Some experience with the neurodiverse community

Ability to spot trends in the field and apply them to KR

Strong interpersonal & relationship building skills

A collaborative mindset and the ability to adapt on the fly

Desired Qualifications:

2+ years of professional experience in the arts education field

Experience with Google Suite

Experience with MailChimp

Compensation: $20/hr for an expected 30 hours per month
