For Performers (playwrights, scroll down):

Production Title: The Trailblazers Collective’s Holiday Extravaganza

Production Type: virtual cabaret (songs, monologues, scenes, poetry)

Commitment: 2 short rehearsals + 1 virtual performance

Compensation: % of ticket sales and donations (50% of sales/donations is split amongst performers; 15% goes to charitable organization)

Virtual Auditions: November 5th – November 19th

Rehearsals: There will be two individual virtual rehearsals before the performance. The first rehearsal will be scheduled for a virtual one-on-one slot between November 20-28 (please note: Thanksgiving is Nov. 26). The second individual rehearsal will be day-of or day-before the performance. It will be short and mainly just to check virtual tech and run time.

Performance: Saturday, December 5th @ 7pm Eastern (virtual)

Seeking: singer/songwriters, actors, poets, etc.

Are you writing an epic rock anthem about Ramadan? Have a monologue about your experience as a BIPOC individual? Working on a short scene about Rosh Hashanah with your roommate? Did you write a poem that can change the world? We want to hear from you!!

At The Trailblazers Collective, our mission is to give life to new works, empower voices and give space to artists that are BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and more), and with disabilities, and give hope as we look towards the future of our shared world.

The Trailblazers Collective aims to raise voices and experiences of marginalized folx and create greater equity in the artistic space, virtually and beyond. We are fostering creativity and innovative storytelling, networking local, national, and international artists of all disciplines.

Submission Instructions:

Each performer will have one or two 5-minute (flexible) slots for the performance. Please submit a video of you doing what you do best. Performers MUST provide at least a written description of what they plan to perform for the cabaret, in addition to a brief video audition. Preference will be given to new works.

Themes: diversity visibility, social change, and/or holiday-themed

The Trailblazers Collective is also seeking submissions from writers for future shows. Currently, all opportunities are virtual. This means we want YOU to submit, regardless of where you live. We are always taking submissions from writers of all disciplines.

Do you write plays? Musicals? Poetry? Prose? Dramatic rock operas to topple the patriarchy? Great!
