The actors will remain in their place of residence and live stream from a “studio” that Quintessence will provide in their “home.” The production will last roughly 90 minutes and involve an ensemble of four actors interchanging and playing all roles. The performances will be interactive through a zoom-like virtual space.

Beloved for her generosity, kindness, and intelligence, Sara Crewe leads a life straight out of a fairy tale. Amidst the swirl of a lavish thirteenth birthday party, news reaches Miss Minchin’s Boarding School that Sara’s father has died overseas. The family is ruined, and Sara’s fortune vanishes overnight. With no tuition to pay school fees, Sara is stripped of her possessions and banished to an attic, forced to toil as Miss Minchin’s servant. Equipped with only her books, vivid imagination, and the devotion of her well-earned friends, Sara discovers her innate power and that there is more to a meaningful life than pretty dresses and glittering jewels. From the celebrated writer of The Secret Garden, Frances Hodge Bennett’s 1902 play The Little Princess is the perfect holiday adventure for the whole family.
All roles will be shared by the ensemble of four actors. The script will be devised throughout the rehearsal process by the director and ensemble
Prepare the two provided sides at www.QTGrep.org/auditions. Speak directly to the camera and imagine you are telling the story to a class of 4-6 year-olds. The director looks forward to seeing how actors “transform” between the different characters. Actors are encouraged to “puppet” household objects, use movement, play with their relationship to the camera, anything to captivate us. Please upload your audition video to YouTube and submit a private link to Artistic@QTGrep.org.
