DESCRIPTION

Director will be responsible for leading online rehearsals with a company of actors that represent many diverse identities and contributing to a positive rehearsal atmosphere. They will be skilled at creating and sustaining momentum over a digital platform. Director will collaborate with the production director, design team, playwright, actors, and CRT’s artistic team. 

About the Play: To the Moon is a fierce and tender docu-drama about domestic abuse. Almost 200 survivors contributed stories that shaped this script; knowing that such abuse impacts people from all walks of life, five diverse women collaborated to interview survivors and distribute surveys. Playwright Beth Kander weaves these survivors’ stories into a tough and moving play, documenting and dramatizing the tragic realities of domestic abuse in America.

Program Description: To the Moon is a stand-alone event produced under CRT’s Headwaters New Play Program.

Applicable Dates: The production period will consist of one week of rehearsals with two public (digital only) performances the week of February 22, 2021 or the week of March 1st, 2021, exact dates TBD. 

Compensation: Fee will align with a LORT D weekly rate.

Preferred Qualifications or Transferrable Skills: Experience directing and developing new work. Familiarity with online platforms such as Zoom and Streamyard. Experience working with plays of a sensitive subject matter. Experience facilitating a safe and creative working environment.
