One House is thrilled to be seeking actors for the following pieces that will be premiering as part of our virtual ten-minute play festival, “One House, One Heart”.
The festival will be premiering on the One House youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCI5kZQ6MUtKI0Y9pxYs-IKA) on October 9th, 10th, and 11th 2020, with a special live-streamed awards ceremony on the 18th where we will be giving away prizes of up to $150 dollars.

FISH TANK By Aly Kantor
Taking place on an invasive two-way video platform, a woman is assessed by a non-descript government agent, but as the conversation goes on, just who is in control of who becomes less clear.
MADDY- 23 years old, female identifying – incredibly smart, incredibly dark, and incredibly lonely.
ELLISON- Should be visibly older than MADDY, but young enough to change his mind, male identifying – somewhat conservative, maybe a bit naïve, and is realizing what it means to hold power.

In the middle of the night, at a nearby park, a father and his adult son share a unique moment of understanding, as they repair a broken swing set.
ARNOLD DUNDAS- 60-70, retiree, lives alone.
PETER DUNDAS- 35-40, ARNOLD’S son.

In the hall of Asian Mammals, at the New York Museum of Natural History, the two tigers on display contemplate the nature of their existence, and what happens when that existence comes to an end.
MAHAVIR- The spirit of the adult male tiger, brooding, proud, not good at articulating his feelings.
ATMA- The spirit of the adult female tiger, light, kind-hearted, infatuated with language.

When Ivana is brought down to the principle’s office, a classmate is asked to sit in and act as a translator, but how can they convey Ivana’s problem’s, and dreams in a way that their white principle would understand?
ARIEL- a confident, hip, high school senior, who is secure enough about her popularity to try to help out a nerd in trouble. her clothes, hair, etc should reflect her level of cool.
IVANIA- a shy, sensitive girl, lost in a dream world. the same age as ariel, but appears younger. she wears a blouse with a peter pan collar, with either brand x jeans or a simple, dark polyester skirt.
MR. MILLER- a high school principal, in his forties. stuffy, though he sees himself as able to “rap” with kids, and be one of the gang.
