Via Brooklyn Theatre Co. is seeking a PR & Marketing Independent Contractor to begin work on their upcoming production of “Testament” written by Tristan Bernays and directed by Lucy Jane Atkinson, that will be filmed under a SAG-AFTRA contract in early October for release on Vimeo on Demand later this year. All Covid-19 regulations will be strictly in place as per SAG-AFTRA and NY State Government Regulations for the production, although we anticipate this position working entirely remotely.

A sacrificial son. Sisters with a shocking secret. A man on Death Row. “Testament” invites you to bear witness to the dark underbelly of The Good Book. Set in modern day America,  “Testament” explores the compelling re-imagining of four oft-forgotten Bible characters against a haunting score of gospel and blues as we behold how their lives have unfolded in today’s society. 


-Write and submit press releases to contacts at US newspapers, periodicals, websites, blogs, etc.

-Scout and submit for US interview opportunities

-Put together and submit press kit to go to US theatre and film reviewers

-US ad placement


-BA or BFA in Theatre, English, Film Studies, Communications, or Journalism

-Relevant PR & Marketing Experience

-Strong understanding of the theatre and film worlds, especially in NYC

-Strong knowledge of relevant publications, both in print and virtually

-Excellent writing and communication skills

-Able to meet all deadlines punctually

-A true team player and ensemble member


$1,000 flat fee with separate budget for all materials, ad placement, etc. Candidate will be hired under a 1099.


Pre-production is already underway, with rehearsals beginning September 21st, and filming taking place in early October. Employment would start upon contract signing and work will be needed periodically through the end of “Testament’s” month long release in Fall/Winter 2020.
