Due to COVID-19 and Social Distancing Efforts, accepting Video Submission Auditions in lieu of in person EPAs at the theatre. Local Boston area actors encouraged to submit.

Actors will also be considered for possible replacements if needed, and tapes/resumes will be kept on file for future smaller projects tbd.

Mary Somerville – a woman respected for her math and science, Ada’s mentor This role is cast. Actor track 2 – 25-45, plays Lord Lovelace – Ada’s future husband, wishes he was more rich, proud; and Byron – a brooding self-aware poet This role is cast.

Charles Babbage – 40-60, genius, Ada’s “soul-mate” in London This role is cast.

The Half Life of Marie Curie

MARIE CURIE: 44. Polish born, French national. Brilliant, shrewd, private and patient scientist. At this point she has already won her first Nobel Prize in physics with her husband Pierre in 1903. She is the mother of two daughters, Irene (14) and Eve (7). She was widowed in 1906 when her husband died tragically.

HERTHA AYRTON: 57. British. A brazen, ambitious, fiercely intelligent engineer, inventor and suffragist. Widowed in 1908 she continued her work in electrical experimentation while secretly housing suffragettes running from police. Of Jewish origin she became an agnostic pragmatist who changed her name from Sarah to Hertha after a Swinburne poem about a goddess of the earth.

Roy M. Cohn, a successful New York lawyer and unofficial power broker. This role is cast.

Joseph Porter Pitt, chief clerk for Justice Theodore Wilson of the Federal Court of Appeals, Second Circuit. Among other roles, also plays Prior 1, the ghost of a dead Prior Walter from the 13th century. This role is cast.

Harper Amaty Pitt, Joe’s wife, an agoraphobic with a mild Valium addiction. This role is cast. Louis Ironson, a word processor working for the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. This role is cast.

Prior Walter, Louis’ boyfriend. Occasionally works as a club designer or caterer, otherwise lives very modestly but with great style off a small trust fund. This role is cast.

Hannah Porter Pitt, Joe’s mother, currently residing in Salt Lake City. Among other roles, also plays Henry, Roy’s doctor. . This role is cast.

“IOTA” (The International Order of Travel Agents). This role is cast.

Belize, a former drag queen and former lover of Prior’s. A registered nurse. Among other roles, also plays Mr. Lies, Harper’s imaginary friend, a travel agent, who in style of dress and speech resembles a jazz musician; he always wears a large lapel badge emblazoned. This role is cast.

The Angel. Among other roles, also plays Emily, a nurse; Sister Ella Chapter, a Salt Lake City real estate saleswoman; and Woman, a homeless woman. This role is cast.
