Studio Theatre, Washington’s premier venue for contemporary theatre, seeks applicants for its 2020-2021 apprenticeships.
Studio Theatre’s apprenticeships provide on-the-job training for early-career artists and administrators at one of the country’s most exciting and well-respected midsized theatres. This 50-week program introduces motivated young professionals to the rigors and rewards of working at a fast-paced theatre in Washington DC’s rich and extensive theatre community.
Located in the heart of Washington DC’s Logan Circle neighborhood, Studio Theatre, under the artistic direction of David Muse, provides audiences with intimate performances of the best of contemporary theatre. Studio’s apprenticeships offer rigorous, hands-on learning, designed to help transition apprentices from an academic environment into the professional theatre world.
Apprenticeships are offered in the following areas:
-Company Management and Production
-Events and Partnerships
-Marketing and Communications
-Sound and Projections
Studio Theatre provides housing for each apprentice with their own private bedroom, completely furnished with paid utilities in a state-of-the-art housing complex, walking distance from the theatre. Apprentices also receive a modest stipend to assist with daily expenses. Apprenticeship at Studio Theatre features seminars with Studio Theatre leadership, including Artistic Director David Muse and Managing Director, Rebecca Ende Lichtenberg.
The priority deadline for applications is February 15, 2020. Applications received after February 15 are considered on an as-needed basis.
The 2020-2021 Apprenticeship takes place July 2020 through June 2021.
