HERE Arts Center
New York City, NY 10013
HERE Arts Center currently seeks a talented emerging professional to join our fundraising team as a Development Fellow. The Fellow is an elevated internship with a 20-hour per week commitment and offers a stipend from January through June 2020. As an organization, HERE is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment. Applicants from populations underrepresented in the theater field are strongly encouraged to apply. All applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, familial status, sexual orientation, national origin, ability, age, or veteran status.
As an essential member of the HERE development department, the Development Fellow reports to HERE’s Manager of Individual Giving and Special Events and Institutional Giving Manager and is exposed to the creation of institutional giving applications and reports, individual giving processes, and special event planning. The Development Fellow has the opportunity to learn and master HERE’s donor database, conduct research, and be a part of larger organizational strategy sessions around fundraising. Candidates must be eager to learn about non-profit fundraising, be detail oriented, and open to collaborating across teams. Capable of staying focused in a busy work environment, handling multiple tasks, and a good sense of humor are also successful attributes for the person in this position. Fellows will have the chance to be a part of HERE’s celebrated PROTOTYPE Festival, depending on an arranged start, and the planning and execution of HERE’s annual spring Gala, a major event for HERE and our community. Former Fellows have gone on to part-time and full-time positions at HERE and other exciting organizations around the arts community in New York City within development, membership, special events, and other administrative positions.
