A KIND OF ALASKA
(Inspired by Oliver Sacks’ AWAKENINGS):
HORNBY: Male, early sixties, doctor. Under his care is Deborah, his sister-in-law, who has been in a coma for 30 years. He “wakes” her up medically.
PAULINE: Deborah’s younger sister, married to Hornby, but estranged from him because of Hornby’s devotion to Deborah’s care.
ONE FOR THE ROAD
NICOLAS: Male, mid-40’s. A government official; powerful, aggressive, perverse, brutal, charming, calm.
GILA: Female, 30’s. Tortured by the government Nicolas represents.
VICTOR: Male, 30’s. Married to Gila, also tortured.
NICKY: Male, 7-years-old. Victor and Gila’s son.
