BINDER CASTING is offering a full-time internship to start in late August and stay through late December. We are seeking intelligent, hard-working, and organized self-starters with a passion for the entertainment industry. This internship provides a unique opportunity to learn about casting at a full-service office while working on theatrical, commercial, and film projects.
Binder Casting, now part of RWS Entertainment Group, was founded by Jay Binder, CSA in 1984. Binder Casting has cast over 80 Broadway productions, dozens of National Tours, off-Broadway shows, full seasons for over 25 regional theatres, as well as feature films, episodic television and commercials. Binder has cast for Encores! at New York City Center since its inception in 1994. The office was also featured in the documentary, Every Little Step. Intern Responsibilities can include: answering phones, copying and scanning, sorting/opening mail and submissions, maintaining our office database, creation and organization of audition material, running errands, monitoring auditions, internet research, taping auditions, general office support, and other duties as assigned.
Previous office/administrative experience is VERY important. We love tech-savvy individuals that have familiarity with Mac computers, the Microsoft Office suite, and video/camera equipment. An immaculate attention to detail is an absolute must, as well as a professional and pleasant phone/e-mail demeanor, a positive no-job-too-small attitude, a sense of humor, and above all a desire and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Our interns gain experience in a busy office, an understanding of the casting business from several different angles, and exposure to top industry professionals. We provide a $100/week stipend as well as an unlimited Metrocard for the duration of the internship.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a FULL-TIME internship. Our office hours are 10:00AM – 6:00PM, Monday through Friday, at our office in Long Island City, Queens. Please do not apply if you are not available full time. No exceptions can be made.
