A leading play licensing and publishing company is seeking an Assistant to the President.  Position reports directly to the President of the company. This is a Mid-Level position for someone with 2-3 years of Administrative Assistant experience. Knowledge of theatre industry and love of theatre IS REQUIRED. Knowledge of publishing industry is a plus.  

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Screen calls, review voicemail and take messages for President’s office.

Place calls on the President’s behalf and set up conference calls.

Maintain calendar requests, appointments, travel and ticket arrangements.

Maintain industry contact list and industry event calendar.

Screen and assist visitors for the President.

Draft and prepare final versions of contracts and other correspondence.

Perform clerical duties including maintaining records, follow through, scanning and filing of correspondence.

Work with Royalty and Finance departments on a variety of matters (e.g., tax forms, check requests).

Prepare documents for Board of Directors Meetings and organize official Minutes.

Prepare listings of upcoming productions in NYC and regional festivals or as needed for travel abroad.

Handle solicited play submissions from agents or authors as well as unsolicited submissions.

Document staff meeting notes with efficiency and accuracy.

Maintain manual of job expectancies and procedures. 


High level of expertise and knowledge in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

High level of accuracy expected and attention to detail.

Motivated self-starter with ability to problem-solve, prioritize and multi-task.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
