Atlantic Theater Company, an award winning non-profit Off-Broadway theater, seeks an ASSOCIATE GENERAL MANAGER OF STUDENT PRODUCTIONS to join the Atlantic Acting School and Atlantic for Kids department. Reporting to the School Artistic Director, the Associate General Manager of Student Productions will provide support for the successful execution of the acting school’s student show season, which consists of eleven Mainstage productions at ATC Stage 2, two One-Act play festivals, and a summer Evening Conservatory showcase, as well as two Atlantic for Kids productions performed at the Linda Gross Theater. The School Associate General Manager will also serve as the liaison for the Acting School’s Evening Conservatory and Part-Time Programs. 




·         Create line calendars and production summaries for all school productions and disseminate amongst internal departments. 

·         Arrange and manage contracts for creative staff. 

o   Train and on-board stage management teams 

·         Hire, train, and schedule Box Office and House Management staff 

·         Manage audition and rehearsal scheduling. 

o   Collaborate with Director of Conservatory Training and Operations Department to ensure space availability for all rehearsals/production meetings/etc. 

·         Collaborate with School Marketing Manager to develop production artwork, marketing materials, and playbills to publicize school productions. 

·         Collaborate with School Marketing manager to manage the Box Office reservation system for all student shows and track the income associated with the school performances. 

·         Manage payroll for all temporary school production staff including but not limited to: One Acts Production Coordinator, House Managers, Box Office staff, Directors, Designers, Fight Choreographers, Photographers and Consultants on as-needed basis.  

·         Collaborate with Stage 2 Production Manager to create and manage first-year student crew assignments. 

o   Collaborate with Director of Conservatory Training and Production Manager to draft course syllabus student crew members. 

o   Asses participating students with a grade and written evaluation at the end of the term   

·         Collaborate with School Artistic Director to produce the mainstage season of student shows. 

o   Secure performance rights for the school season. 

·         Collaborate with School Artistic Director to produce and manage the One-Act play festival, performed by second-year Atlantic NYU Tisch School of the Arts acting students in the fall and second-year Conservatory acting students in the spring. 

o   Collaborate with Director of Conservatory Training to draft course syllabus student actors.  

o   Hire and supervise technical staff.  

o   Collaborate with School Artistic Director to oversee tech process  

o   Asses participating students with a grade and written evaluation at the end of the term 

·         Monitor the season budgets and reconcile student show expenses.  

·         Plan Opening Night gifts and payment remittance.  

·         Collaborate with Director of Conservatory Training to provide production support for Evening Conservatory final production as needed.  

·         Oversee and Manage School Artistic Intern schedule and duties. 


·         Book studio space for all ATC for Kids productions, readings, workshops, and events. 

·         Secure performance rights for Atlantic for Kids shows. 

·         Manage actor submissions and casting process. 

·         Oversee and file all offer letters, new hire and payroll paperwork for creative team and cast. 

·         Collaborate with Marketing Department to compile information for Press Release, website and programs. 

·         Coordinate with Box Office Manager to fulfill industry/creative team/cast comp requests. 

·         Arrange for Opening Day gifts and hospitality.  

·         Track and reconcile expenses with finance department.  


·         Serve as primary liaison to students in the Evening Conservatory & Part-Time students who may have questions or concerns related to their program.   

·         Liaise closely with the Director of Conservatory Training and the Director or Student Affairs to resolve any issues raised by Evening Conservatory or Part-time program faculty or students. 

·         Conduct routine check-ins with the Evening Conservatory ensemble twice per session to foster open channels of communication between students and the administration. 

·         Serve as emergency contact for faculty and students in class or rehearsal and assist in connecting them to emergency services in the very rare instance when that action is warranted.  



·         Bachelor’s degree or 2-3 years of related experience in theater producing and/or arts education 

·         Highly-motivated and organized with superior organizational, creative problem-solving, communication and writing skills 

·         Ability to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple priorities and projects, detail-oriented and work well under deadlines 

·         Demonstrable experience with tracking budgets and managing contracts 

·         Significant experience in team building, cultivating relationships with artists and managing others with a collaborative spirit and excellent diplomacy skills 

·         Comfortable in an educational environment – frequently acting as both teacher and administrator
