DESCRIPTION

Box Out Productions is an award-winning national touring organization specializing in producing original, interactive, high production value theater.

Currently seeking actors for the Box Out Bullying Live Show.  Now in our 10th season, Box Out Productions is casting Box Out Bullying, a 40-minute theatrical experience that combines proven effective bullying prevention techniques with interactive live theater.     

Performances will take place during the school day, no performances on the weekends, evenings, or major holidays.  The company will provide a touring vehicle.

Actors must be able to present a good role model for young audiences, have strong speaking voices, great stage presence, and an interest in working with elementary and middle school students. Actors must be over 18 and have a valid driver’s license.  Open to NYC based talent.

Roles:

[ACTOR 1]

5’10 and shorter. Youthful in Appearance.  Early 20s-early 30s  or

Age Range: 21-30 years old, all ethnicities, male/female.

Actor 1 is the comedic catalyst of the show, with excellent timing, movement and high-energy.  Actor 1 gets the audience to laugh and then allows them to listen. A background in Shakespeare, Movement, Improvisation, or Music a plus.  Must be organized, able to be a good role model for children, and have an interest in working with students; valid driver’s license required. As a company representative, the actor must be comfortable interacting with school faculty and staff members.  

 

[ACTOR 2]

5’10 and above, 21 to 30 years old, all ethnicities male.

Alternating between “straight-man” and comic entertainer, Actor 2 has the important job of hitting home the lessons of the show.  Must be a natural in speaking genuinely to audiences across a wide age range. A background in teaching, improvisation, physical comedy or clowning a plus. Must be organized, able to serve as a good role model for children, and an interest in working with students; valid driver’s license required. As a company representative, actor must be comfortable interacting with faculty and staff members.

DURATION

August 15, 2019 – May 15, 2020

SALARY

Up to $650 per week, plus on the road accommodations and per diem
