[LEONTES] Principal, open ethnicity, male identified, late 30’s-50’s. The King of Sicilia, husband of Hermione and father of Mamillius and Perdita. A charismatic man with access to deep anger and fits of rage. He is powerful and intimidating and his jealousy is so intense he may feel unhinged. Ultimately, he shows true repentance for his sins against his family. Seeking a leading actor with strong language skills that has experience with verse.

[PERDITA] Principal, open ethnicity, female identified, 20’s. Daughter of Leontes and Hermione. She is all wonder, beauty, and love; a total open heart. We are drawn to her brightness and warmth – there is something uniquely special about her. She has the earthy quality of a Shepard’s daughter and the grace and charisma of a princess. Seeking leading actors with strong language skills that are good with verse.

[PAULINA] Principal, open ethnicity, female identified, 50’s-70’s. Wife of Antigonus. Fiercely loyal to Hermione. Masterly command, presence and charisma. Speaks with all authority and wisdom. A guide and protector. Seeking leading actors with strong language skills that are good with verse.

[POLIXENES] Principal, open ethnicity, male identified, 30’s-50’s. King of Bohemia, father of Florizel. He is a childhood friend and trusted ally of Leontes. He is a fine and upstanding man. His convictions often lead him to be perceived as harsh or not in control of his temper. Like Leontes, he possesses a darkness and edge. Seeking leading actors with strong language skills that are good with verse.

[FLORIZEL] Principal, open ethnicity, male identified, 20’s. Prince of Bohemia, son of Polixenes. Winning, charming, and full of promise. He is supremely likeable, though a bit naive in his optimism. We see him find his backbone and grow throughout the play. He could be a leading man, or a non- traditional romantic lead with charisma. Seeking leading actors with strong language skills that are good with verse.

[CAMILLO] Principal, open ethnicity, male identified, 40’s-50’s. A lord of Sicilia. An icon of virtue and good sense. A loyal but sensible man. Straight forward and warm hearted. Generous and likeable. Seeking actors with strong language skills.

[AUTOLYCUS] Principal, open ethnicity, male identified, 30’s-50’s. A peddler and con man from the country side. A lovable rogue. Seeking dynamic comedians with strong physical and clowning skills. Improv experience a plus. Seeking strong language skills.

[OLD SHEPERD] Principal, open ethnicity, male identified, 60’s-80’s. A simple country man that finds and raises Perdita as his own daughter. A big hearted man that possesses a lovable warmth. Seeking comedic actors with strong language skills.

[ANTIGONUS] Principal, open ethnicity, male identified, 40’s-60’s. A lord of Sicilia and Husband to Paula. A noble and loyal man that gives his life for Perdita. Seeking actors with strong language skills.

[CLOWN] Principal, open ethnicity, male identified, 30’s. The Sheperd’s son and Perdita’s adopted brother. Gawky and goofy. Seeking strong comedic and physical character types with strong language skills. Speaks mostly in prose.

[MAMILLIUS] open ethnicity, male identified, young performer 8-12 years old. Mature for his age.

[EMILIA] open ethnicity, female identified, 30’s-40’s. A lady attending on Hermione. A strong and opinionated voice. Seeking actors with strong language skills.

[LORDS/ACTORS/ENSEMBLE] Open ethnicity, Open Gender, Open Age, Actors who carry the play through many different character roles. Looking for actors who sing and play instruments.
