Multi-disciplinary theatre company in New York seeks a General Manager to begin as soon as possible. 

General Manager will report to the Producing Director and will act as the operating hub of the organization, overseeing staffing, human resources, financial management, budgeting and financial reporting, negotiations and contracting, company management, production oversight, and facility management and operations. General Manager will work closely with all departments to ensure smooth and successful procedures are developed and implemented throughout the organization. The successful candidate will oversee a Company Manager/General Management Assistant, as well as various interns throughout the year. 

Company produces and presents a very heavy season with unique challenges throughout.  The successful applicant will be detail-oriented, very well-organized, and will exhibit a calm demeanor, sense of humor, and deep commitment to team work. 

The successful candidate will also have:
– A passion for creating new works and for working directly with artists
– Understandig of the theatrical production process
– Strong knowledge of union contracting and industry best-practices
– Strong financial skills, including bookkeeping and budgeting
– Advanced experience with Quickbooks and Excel
– Strong knowledge of New York and Federal Labor Laws
– Experience with OvationTix
– Advanced (Mac) computer knowledge, including basic networking understanding
