“The Proust Virus”
Book, Music & Lyrics by: Dan Furman
Directed/Choreographed by: Christopher Noffke
“When Proust’s text is uploaded into Tina’s favorite video game, she discovers that the game’s characters have come to life and one of them has fallen in love with her!”

Roles: available:

Blue – Male, 20-30 years. A non-player character in “Quest” (NPC) who is the first to come to life. Blue sees himself as “Marcel” in Proust’s novel, “In Search Of Lost Time.”  He’s convinced of and committed to his own vision – he doesn’t see anything else.  Unconsciously masculine, sexy and charismatic, but not in a knowing way.  Ultimately he is a tragic figure who’s flaws trip him up.  But it is his desires that set everything into motion – so he is crucial and we have to kind of believe in him, even though he loses it (mentally) at the end.  Bari-tenor (B2-A4). ANY ETHNICITY!!!!

Vitaly – Male, 40-60 years. Funny/Character guy.  He is a janitor at Arlene’s school and computer genius emigre from Russia. Bari-tenor (C#3-G4). Must have Russian accent.
