The Old Globe in San Diego’s beautiful Balboa Park seeks an experienced and inspiring development leader to serve as the Deputy Director of Development for this renowned regional theatre. With a budget of $29 million, the Tony Award-winning Old Globe is a recognized leader among American regional theatres. Known for producing a broad range of work from Shakespeare and the classical repertoire to world premiere musicals and plays, the Globe annually produces 15 productions on its three stages, plus a Globe for All touring program that performs in community venues throughout San Diego County.

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Deputy Director will oversee development operations, institutional fundraising, and Globe Gala fund development, as well as serve as the department lead in the director’s absence. We seek a motivated, positive, and mature individual with a minimum of four years of experience in a complex and donor-centered development department, preferably in an arts and culture organization. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in cultivating and soliciting major gifts, motivate others to do their best work, be gifted at analyzing processes and data, and enjoy working with donors of all giving levels. A creative thinker, the Deputy Director of Development will be organized, calm, a self-starter, and an outstanding verbal and written communicator.

Knowledge of donor relationship software vital; experience with Tessitura a plus. Must be able to pass applicable background check. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for business use. Full-time position with benefits including 401(k).
