The award-winning Flea Theater seeks a highly motivated Business Associate. The Flea is a downtown beacon for creative artists of every discipline, and for adventurous audiences seeking bold and inventive work. We are also home to The Bats, a resident company of artists, now with over 120 members who work and perform in all of our theaters.
Candidate must have problem-solving abilities, leadership skills, be extremely organized, detail-oriented and possess the kind of attitude necessary to enjoy working in a lively downtown atmosphere. The Business Associate is a new position on The Flea’s management team, working closely with all of the other Flea associates and under the guidance of the Producing and Artistic Directors. The Business Associate will work closely with The Flea’s finance consultant and bookkeeper.
The Business Associate is responsible for overseeing the daily and ongoing financial and business operations of the theater. Candidate must have exceptional facility with numbers and budgets. Proficiency with Excel and QuickBooks is a must.
Responsibilities include: managing payroll and accounts; managing production and operational budgets; accounts payable and receivable; managing and maintaining all benefit packages and general HR compliance; preparing quarterly reports; working with outside accountants in facilitating The Flea’s annual audit.
Successful candidate should have at least 2 years management experience in operations or business and experience with financial management, organizational systems and controls. Salary is commensurate with experience and includes health benefits, which are paid 100% by The Flea. The Flea is an equal opportunity employer.
