Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC) an award winning off-off Broadway company now its 18th season is hiring a Production Stage Manager and an Assistant Stage Manager for the NY premiere of Queen by Madhuri Shekar and directed by J. Mehr Kaur. 

Queen tells the story of two scientists, Sanam and Ariel, who have spent the past seven years researching vanishing bee populations across the globe. Just as they are about to publish a career-defining paper, Sanam stumbles upon an error which could cause catastrophic damage to their reputations, careers, and friendship. Now, both women are confronted with an impossible choice: look the other way and save the bees – or tell the truth and face the consequences?

Production Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager

Job Descriptions:

The Production Stage Manager runs all rehearsals, sends daily calls and rehearsal/performance reports,  and works directly with the director, production manager, and other members of the production staff. The PSM oversees an ASM and a Wardrobe Supervisor during performances. 

The Assistant Stage Manager will work in concert with the PSM in rehearsal and will oversee backstage throughout the run


Rehearsals are weekday evenings and weekend daytimes. Rehearsals and performances will take place at the Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens in Astoria.

Rehearsals begin on Thursday January 3, 2019 and tech is the last weekend in January. The production runs Thursday through Saturday at 8pm and Saturday at 2pm from January 31, 2019 through February 16, 2019.
